CALIFORNIA - 150 million images calculated from the amount of about 1.3 million photos uploaded every day and 15 photos are posted every second in Instagram, as quoted by Mashable, Thursday (04/08/2011).

Instagram who now have 7 million registered users have uploaded a total of 150 million images. This achievement was realized only within a period of 9 months since the application is present on the App Store.
"The amount of growth in the photos posted every day is viewed from our statistical data. The data that we saw is used to see the force is also a sense of 'opium' of the product," said Kevin Systrom, CEO Instagram.
According Systrom, rapid success in Instagram allow them to become a social network, not just a mobile application for uploading photos.
"We are currently one of the strongest social networks to mobile, with the entry list of 25 top free apps in the App Store for over a month. When currently many mobile applications that come and go, Instagram continued growth in users and usage," he said.
Instagram application for Android already promised long ago, still in development stage, but the company has not commented much about it.
Until now Instagram available only for the iPhone, despite Application programming interfaces (APIs) they allow third party developers to bring Instagram for other platforms.
