Presumably, Alibaba would have this platform to market in China first before switching to other countries. Some observers predict Alibaba will market the platform aggressively, following growth of mobile vendors who sell their devices through the Alibaba site.

The news came to light shortly after another Chinese technology firm, Baidu, revealed their plans to build a mobile operating system Qiushi. The biggest search engine Bamboo Curtain country hopes to facilitate the users search via their mobile phones in a short time.

Many believe that China is trying to reduce their dependence on Western technology companies like Microsoft, Intel or Google as well as actively encouraging the growth of their local startup.
