Mitsubishi Heavy Industries investigate viral leakage of data
Tokyo: NHK quoted as saying on Tuesday (20 / 9), Mitsubishi said the virus was designed to steal data from a network of in-house companies, but there are no leaks that have been confirmed. The company also has consulted with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and an investigation by security experts.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Japan reportedly hit by cyber attack in as many as 11 factories that produce equipment and nuclear defense. The company said that previously had detected a virus in 83 servers and personal computers, last August.
In addition, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also said it would continue further investigations to find out the occurrence of leakage of data about the product or technology. They said the virus was likely to come from outside the company's computer network.
The attacks also hit factory shipyard in Nagasaki and Kobe, and production base for guidance and propulsion systems in Nagoya. Targeted locations were producing destroyer, submarine, missile and nuclear power plants.
