PARIS - Many young children and girls use computers and the Internet to support their learning activities. South Korea is one country where the girl has a digital literacy. Bleak the Straits Times reported on Thursday (30/06/2011), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) conducted a test conducted on 34 groups of the world economy with the most advanced levels of the economy.
They tested the students in the 16 member states, besides Colombia, China, Hong Kong and Macao are also included as part of the international assessment program.
From the results of the study were students in Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Macau more significance in reading on digital media.
The results of the opposite occurs in other countries such as Poland, Hungary, Chile, Austria, Hong Kong and Colombia.
"Based on that study, girls had an average of 24 points better and is equivalent to one year of study at school," says OECD
This shows, education would be better if it integrate the computer into karikulum and classrooms.
"Policy makers such as governments and the principal must invest more in training teachers to use computers in their teaching and learning activities," concluded the OECD.
