Yes, the social networking giant has just announced the merger of Hastings in the ranks of the board of directors. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg welcomed the presence of Hastings who claims to have made a breakthrough in film and television watching.
"Reed has built a culture of innovation that continues to give birth, something we have to do every day," Zuckerberg said, as quoted by the Straits Times on Friday (06/24/2011).
Same enthusiasm expressed by Hastings, which also includes the Microsoft board of directors since 2007.
"Facebook has made fundamental changes to how people relate to each other and share all sorts of content," said Hastings.
"I can not wait to work with Mark and other members of the board of directors to help Facebook exploit all the opportunities that arise in the future," he added.
Netflix is a subscription service to enjoy Internet TV broadcasts and movies. Hastings started the business in 1997 after the company was founded Pure Atria Software, which eventually acquired by Rational Software Corporation.
