250 Thousand Ancient Book will be Published on the Internet for reliable and valid research source

LONDON - Approximately 250 thousand ancient books will be published online, as part of a collaboration between the British Library with the Google search engine.

Books that have no copyright, dating from 1700 and 1870, and has been selected by the British Library to digitally later published by Google. Similarly, as quoted by the Press Association on Tuesday (06/21/2011).

Among these ancient books which will be published online is a pamphlet about the French Queen Marie Antoinette and the Spanish inventor Narciso Monturiol, about his plans in 1858 to create a first submarine.

"In the 19th century, is an ambition for scientists to share knowledge as widely as possible, so as to ensure that the information is not only owned by people who are able to the library," said Dame Lynne Brindley Chief Executive of the British Library.

"We are very pleased to be working with Google for this project. Through this partnership we are confident to deliver all access to the public who wish to gain knowledge in the books," he added.

Later 250 thousand ancient books will be available online at Google Books and the British Library website.

"These materials were an important part of world cultural heritage, and we are proud to publish it to the world community," said Peter Barron, Director of External Relations at Google.
