Researchers at the Centre of Microsystems Technology, Ghent University have developed a prototype contact lens (contact lenses) that can display text messages such as SMS, and display it in front of our eyes. So text messages from mobile phones will be projected onto the lenses used in the eye.
Contact lenses are equipped LCD display curved shape. The display will be projected text or images using wireless technology.
"Now we have created the basic technology, we can begin to apply for real," says Professor Herbert De Smet is quoted by the Telegraph, Tuesday (11/12/2012).
Herbert said, this technology will also be used for medical purposes, such as controlling the transmission of light to the retina to replace the damaged iris or for cosmetics.
Previously, discoveries like this already exist. However, the image projection capability is limited to a small pixels. While this new technology allows the entire surface of the lens is used to project a message.
