SEOUL - The measures taken by LG will make it more independent in terms of production of components. South Korean electronics giant began to move down there last year when production agreement ARM-based chip designs.
LG is reportedly preparing to enter the CPU market. Rows of prime chip will be exhibited in the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013.
Quoted from TechRadar, Tuesday (12/04/2012), the source told The Korea Times that LG is preparing its own chip production starting from the chip to the Smart TV.
LG's first chip will be referred to as H13. The letter "H" is selected from said home entertainment and "13" indicates the year the launch of the chips.
Although it carries the name of LG, the chip will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TMSC). They will make it using 28 nanometer technology.
