new Opteron 6300 series processors are prepared



CALIFORNIA - The device server specifically for the brain is priced with a price range starting from USD575 to USD1.392 (10 different types of processors). Williams also revealed that more than 30 servers featuring the new Opteron 6300 series processors and ready to be released.


Manufacturer processors from California, Advanced Micro Devices launched its Opteron 6300 series chips Piledriver. This new device has the code name of Abu Dhabi and is designed specifically for server product line of low-energy chips.

Reported Theinquirer, Monday (05/11/2012), one year ago AMD released the Opteron Bulldozer chips to rival Intel's dominance of the product line. Now, AMD developed a new processor, the Opteron 6300 series Piledriver.

AMD makes this new processor series to replace Bulldozer Opteron and still carry the level of thermal design power (TDP) of the same. TDP has a range of between 115W and 140W, for a single piece of high efficiency (HE) 16-core 85W TDP listed.

AMD also offers an 8-core processor, 12-core and 16-core processors. CRN website writes, this new processor architecture featuring next-generation Piledriver. The company also claims the processor giant new product gives 40 percent more performance per watt Opteron 6200 processors faster than before.

"One of the key elements behind the Opteron 6300, is a 16-core architecture of Piledriver," said John Williams, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Server AMD. He said the new processor has a base frequency up to 3.5 GHz.
