Intel begin to produce processors for smartphones and tablet
CALIFORNIA - Intel SoCs manufactured today use technology 32 millimeters, while its competitors, Qualcomm uses 28 nanometer technology. Production of the processor with a smaller size enables performance and better power efficiency.
Intel demonstrated a new production technology for smartphones and tablet processors. The new technology makes it ready to launch a new mobile processor and rival Qualcomm and other rivals.
Quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (12/11/2012), the maker of the world's biggest currently dominates the PC industry, but slow in the process of adaptation toward mobile processor requires more power efficiency.
At an industry conference in San Francisco, Monday, Intel reported a technological advancement to create a System on Chips (SoCs). The hardware uses 22 nanometer technology.
"Intel's 22 nanometer technology will be ready for high volume production in 2013," Intel wrote in his presentation.
