40 percent of consumer laptops will prefer to change into ultrabook

TAIPEI - By the end of 2012, 40 percent of consumer laptops will find a new generation of powerful computers called by Ultrabook as said by Intel Corporation Executive Vice President Sean Maloney .

Maloney presents information about significant changes made in the roadmap Intel CoreTM Intel processor to accommodate this new category. He also reiterated the desire to accelerate the pace of Intel innovation AtomTM Intel processor-based system-on-chips (SoCs) for netbooks, smartphones, tablets, and other complementary devices.

This new generation will further combine best-in-class performance and increased responsiveness and security in the shape that is sleek and elegant.

"Computing has many forms," said Maloney, during a speech at Computex 2011, Taipei, Taiwan.

"Technological innovation is a catalyst and we believe that the changes made in Intel's roadmap was supported close collaboration with industry will bring exciting changes to personal computing in the next few years," he said.

Ultrabook formed with Moore's Law and the same silicon technology as traditional PCs last 40 years. This will enable a new generation of product design with a thin, lightweight, and attractive with a thickness of less than 20mm (0.8 inches), and the mainstream price below USD1, 000.

This chip-based systems will be available for fall 2011 holiday season, including Ultrabook from Asus, UX21.

"Our customers want to experience uncompromising computing with a lightweight design and highly portable so as to meet their needs quickly. Transforms your PC into a device that is very thin, highly responsive to changing the way people interact with their PCs, " Jonney Shih said.

"Asus is very much in line with Intel's vision in Ultrabook," said Chairman of ASUS, Jonney Shih.
