SONY introduces first external hard drive called HD-PG5. These drives not only as a USB device to store data but also provides special features for connecting to other Sony devices.

Users can record HD video directly from a Bravia TV, transfer video files directly from Handycam camcorder without using a PC and play videos and photos via the PlayStation 3.
Thick 2.5-inch hard drive provides storage space of 500GB. Besides it can connect to the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0. When using the latest USB version and use the software Data Transfer Accelerator claimed transfer rate is doubled.
HD-PG5 start shipping to Britain, France and Germany in mid-July. Until now there has been price and location of launch
