A study on the health effects caused by watching television three dimensional (3D) re-find the conclusions less reassure. Because of a recent study showed that watching television will cause eyestrain 3D extra.

Research carried out a group of researchers from the University of Berkeley found that when test subjects saw the 3D content, they reported more eye strain and fatigue and lack of clarity of vision later than when they watch the video 2D.

According to the survey results, the difference between the depth of the screen and the depth of 3D images cause major problems, although the researchers also found a relationship between image depth and proximity to the screen also plays a role in eye strain.

Launched by ArsTechnica, Sunday (07/24/2011), of twenty-four participants in this study are shown in 3D and 2D video on the distance and position. Then they will answer a questionnaire about eyestrain, neck and back pain, and clarity of vision.

The second part of this study found that despite exhausting 3D in general, participants had more problems with remote display shows an image with vergence distance deeper than the screen and the display shows an image close to popping out of the screen.

This research is especially relevant for designers of 3D content, to make appropriate content and does not damage the eye. However, this study also means that the 3D video is more comfortable viewing in the cinema than in the living room.

Unfortunately for Samsung, financial supporter and producer of 3D TV studies, this study appear to indicate that they hurt the eyes of their customers.
