Bill Gates reportedly Collect 4.3 Billion U.S. Dollars for Free Vaccines

LONDON- Since resigning from his post as CEO of Microsoft in 2008, Bill Gates is more diligent in doing the deeds to the various parts of the world. This time, the former richest man in the world that raise funds to vaccinate children in poor countries.

He managed to invite a number of world leaders to give donors a total of 4.3 billion U.S. dollars. The program aims to vaccinate 250 million children in the world's poorest of them life-threatening diseases, especially diarrhea and pneumonia.

"This is benera generosity that began," said Bill Gates on the sidelines of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), an organization he founded, in London on Monday (6/13/2011).

This exceeds the budgeted commitment by the world's vaccine agency, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI). Indeed, GAVI estimates that the funds needed for the vaccination of 3.7 billion U.S. dollars. Vaccination can prevent the premature death of more than four million children.

"For the first time in the world, children in developing countries will get the same vaccine against diarrhea and pneumonia as the children in developed countries," continued Gates.
